Happy Birthday Mom

Girls made my birthday cake

The girls wanted to make my birthday cake this year.  My two favorite cakes are a cookie cake or ice cream cake.  We decided on making cookie cakes.  I thought it would be easiest to just let each of them make a 9 inch cookie cake.  They really had a lot of fun doing it!

Jack o lanterns

This is Kayla's Jack O Lantern
This is Alyssa's Jack O Lantern
This is Summer's Jack O Lantern
Here is Alyssa carving her own pumpkin all by herself.  She made the design, drew it, and is carving it all on her own.

Here is Kayla doing her pumpkin all by herself.

Summer proudly displays the design she and Daddy came up with.  He did the pumpkin for Summer.

Shasta loves stuffed animals

Lol..I told the girls if they didn't pick up their stuffed animals Shasta would.  While we were sleeping she brought all of them to her bed.

She seams to tolerate this blue neck band much better than the cone of shame.  Only a few more days to go and she is all healed up!

Shasta finds herself toys

I had to run some errands today.  When I got home I found Shasta like this.  Clearly she went around the house while I was gone and found some stuffed animals.  She even picked up a cabbage patch doll and one of my shoes!!!  I thought it was hilarious!

Kayla's wolf drawing

Kayla drew this wolf.  She wanted me to scan it in and print out a copy so she could keep one copy and sell one at her Friday auction.  She is getting really good at drawing!!!

Summer happy to go to preschool

Summer is starting a new preschool today..practically in walking distance from our house.  Nice to find something so close.  It is pretty small which is good for her needs right now.  She may be a bit like her parents and prefer small groups of people at a time.

Poor Shasta

Shasta became ill Sunday.  She was having fluid leaking and eventually blood.  We brought her in on Monday to find out she had a uterine infection and a small breast tumor.  Uterine infections in middle age dogs are serious and require immediate surgery.  The medical term used is Pyometra.  She had surgery last night around 9 p.m. and had a full hysterectomy and the breast tumor removed.  They said she did very well and was alert and looking around soon after.  This morning she took a walk and was doing well.  She currently is not interested in eating so we will need to keep an eye on her.  We pick her up today after the girls get home from school.

Kayla's school picture

Here is Kayla's 4th grade picture.  Sniff, sniff, she is looking too grown up for me...I told her I want her to go back to being a 7 or 8 year old  and never grow up.  She sure is beautiful!!!!!  Daddy and Mommy told her last night that we were going to have to install a home alarm system and lock her in the house just to keep all the boys away.

Alyssa cartoon drawing

Alyssa is getting quite good at cartoon drawings.  She is especially proud of the eyes she draws on people.
She drew this one on the ipad.

Lady

Here is a picture of our cat Lady.  We rescued her from the local animal shelter last July.  She is a beautiful Russian blue.  She was very scared of us the first month.  Once we let her outside she slowly started gaining our trust.  Now she will let us pet her and pick her up.  She is quite fond of eating and I don't think she has any interest in hunting.  She is getting quite fat...LOL.

Alyssa drew a funny poster

The last of the safety trees

We just had the side of this oak trimmed off as it would be in danger of falling towards the house in a storm.
We had one cedar tree next to it taken down in two pieces.  It was a major leaner which could have fell on the house.
Poor Ed, back to work limbing and cutting up rounds.  Hopefully you will figure out what is wrong with your chain saw.  If not I got a good reference for a chainsaw repair guy today.
The cedar tree stump.

The two pieces the cedar tree was fell.
Looking from the house so you can see all the work you have to do Ed...LOL.  Sorry...but hey, on the bright side we have free heat for years to come and I am the fire master!!!!

New trailer

Here are some pictures of the new trailer we just bought.  We are looking forward to some fun camping adventures.  This trailer is only 19 feet long but has 3 pops out beds for sleeping.  We think it will be a great start for our first trailer.  The kids are all very excited.
