Waterfalls of Kauai

We were able to drive and see a couple of waterfalls on Kauai.  I am sure the best ones to see are from the helicopter tours.  If you are a serious hiker I bet you could see some great ones as well!

Chickens of Kauai

Chickens are everywhere in Kauai.  The girls couldn't believe they would see them at Costco, at the hotdog stand, at the mall, the beach, any place we went!  I think they were hoping to catch one!
Mommy didn't want the children to chase the chickens but when Mommy's away the children will play.  Daddy has different rules so they were happy to be under his guidance!
Summer was content just looking at the chickens in her stroller.  We fed them a few crackers so she could watch them closely.

Harbor Seal sighting!

We were so happy to be able to see a harbor seal taking a nap on the beach!  We looked everyday hoping to see one!  The girls loved being able to get that close to seeing the seal too!

Wave jumping

All of the girls loved wave jumping!  Here in the next few pictures are Alyssa and Kayla wave jumping with Ethan, the boy they met at the swimming pool!

Kayla found it funny to stick her butt out at the waves and tell them to try and get her!  She was sticking her tongue out too!
A beautiful sunset at our beach!

Summer loved wave jumping with Daddy!  It sure gave him a work out!

Summer likes wave jumping!

Lei Making

One our visit to the North shore we decided to stop by the local Children's Discovery Museum.  Little did we know it had been changed into a Cultural Center.  They were doing free lei making so the girls wanted to stay and learn how to make their own leis!

They found it was very easy and they like making their own patterns!

They even showed Kayla how to wear it as a head piece!

Shaved Ice

The girls' favorite treat was shaved ice!  In fact, they became shaved ice snobs.  They tried a few different places and decided the little shack in Koala had the best taste!  They had it 6 times while we were there on a 12 day vacation!  That's pretty good!  Lucky girls!  They experimented with lots of different flavors too!
 Lol...brain freeze!
We tried to get Summer to try it but she didn't want to have anything to do with it!
She was just happy to sit in between her sisters!

Our Boat tour of Napali Coast

We decided to book a boat tour with Captain Andy's and chose their Sunset dinner cruise.  This was the only boat tour that would allow a 2 year old.  Since Summer turns 2 the next month they let us bring her.  Most other boat tours and companies required children to be 5 years old with a few making an exception at 3 years old.  After taking the 4 hour boat tour, I can see why!

In this picture Summer is having fun counting the numbers.  It was a very large ice chest and she liked touching the raised numbers.
The girls were so happy they were allowed to drink Soda.  They both took the opportunity to over indulge too!  They both had 3!  Actually Kayla was drinking Hawaiian juice while Alyssa had both sprite and juice!  Unfortunately for Kayla she didn't make it to the bathroom on time!  Good thing they told us to bring a change of clothes!

A rare moment where Summer was happy!
They even met a local boy that they had a great time hanging out with!  I thought he was pretty  cute!  If he had an indian named it would have been boywhotalksalot! LOL!

The Napali coast is so beautiful!  I am so glad we were able to take the boat tour!  I don't think we would have been able to get as good of pictures in a helicopter tour unless you take one of the ones with the doors off!

Too bad Summer spent 3 out of the 4 hours upset!  I spend every ounce of energy I had to keep her quiet so others could enjoy the boat ride.  Much of the time I spent below deck so no one was bothered by her.  We discovered the next day she had gotten a new molar in.
