We got a new used minivan today. It is a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country with all the bells and whistles. It only had 33,000 miles which is amazing for being almost 5 years old.
We traded in the Saturn and got a very bad deal on that. I guess I have pretty poor negotiations skills. Maybe next time hubby should take over. They only gave me $2100 for the Saturn. They also totally lied to me and said they were going to auction it off because a vehicle with 148,000 miles is no used to them on their lot. They said they would not make any money once they reconditioned the vehicle. Of course two days later I look at their website and they have the saturn listed for $9,995 and rave about its excellent well taken care of condition and low miles for the age of the vehicle.
The kids are really enjoying having their own space. The middle row has captain seats. All of the seats fold into the floor for storage. There is a DVD player with wireless headphones so we don't have to listen to their movie playing.
The minivan is easier for me to drive than the saturn. They did a good job for short people making it easy to drive. The pedals raise, the seat and steering wheel have many adjustments. The car also has blind spot guidance and will beep at you if you have your turn signal on and another car is coming up along side of you in your blind spot. Hopefully this will be a reliable vehicle for many years to come. I really hope it lasts until the older two are off to college. We did buy the extended warranty.
