Field trip to the lake

Wow, what a busy day today was.  Kayla had a school field trip to the lake all day from 8:30-3:00.  I then was recruited to volunteer for the 8th grade graduation ceremony and dance from 6:00-11:00.

Kayla really enjoyed hanging out with her friends at the field trip.  Lots of swimming and fun in the sun!

Kayla limo ride field trip

Kayla got to go on a limo ride to the movie theaters to watch the Jungle Book.  She was one of the top 8 kids in her grade level to raise money for their field trip fundraiser.  She was so excited!!

I was not allowed to go..darn it!  So, I sent my camera along with Kayla to take pictures.  These are the pictures that she took and what was important to her on the trip.
This is her friend Emily that was also a top fundraiser earner.

Some of the other top fundraisers.
I think she was impressed by the glasses inside.
I think she said this was a GPS?
Look at all that seating room.
She was thrilled to have a cold soda.
 Look at that, a phone!
She also loved that they could see out the windows but no one could see in.

Field trip to Chinese Food

The 7th graders took a field trip to our local Chinese Food restaurant.  My observation..the boys ate a ton and were not picky..the girls on the other hand..ate rice and noodles..lol
I was at a table with some boys with big appetites.

These are Alyssa's two friends Kaden and Tommy..too bad I clicked the pictures at a bad time.
Alyssa's table had 7 girls and 1 boy and no adults...lol  They were well behaved though so it was fine.

Art Musem Field Trip

Alyssa's class took a field trip to the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento.  I volunteered to go along.  Originally  I wasn't too thrilled since I don't really find hanging pictures that fun to look at.  However, our docent was amazing and I loved all the sculptures in the museum.  I most especially like the World War II sculptures made out of items from the war.

Alyssa had a great time painting her own little vase.

Field Trip to Apple Hill

Summer had her first field trip for her kindergarten class this year to Apple Hill.  They were able to go through the hay maze, listen to a story and pick an apple, do apple tasting, and pick out a small pumpkin.  She had a great time, especially because she got to ride on the big yellow bus!!!

Day 2 of Science Field Trip

Today was up at 5:45 a.m.!  We had to make it to Duxbury Reef at low tide which was shortly after 7 a.m.
Here is the class exploring tide pools

Brr..it was cold out there.  Those kiddos who brought rubber boots for this part of the trip had the easiest time navigated the tide pools.

I took a picture from above looking down at all the kiddos below.

Of course some of the kids had fun picking up a dead fish carcass.
Next we were on to the earthquake trail walk.

See how far apart the fence is after the earthquake happened?

After the earthquake walk we moved on to Point Reyes to see the lighthouse.
Alyssa didn't really like this part of the field trip.  She didn't like the high cliffs.

There is the light house.  The stairs are closed during the middle of the week.  You have to go Friday through Monday if you want to walk down the stairs.
Afterwards we all went to the beach.  This is where the kiddos played and I took a rest.  I did not sleep well in a tent.  I heard every single sound including the kids giggling, trips to the bathroom, the raccoons, etc.

Once we got back to the campground the girls made their dinner.  MAc N Cheese..once again keeping it simple.  The adults were able to go have dinner together at a restaurant.
