Disney on Ice!

 We surprised the girls and took them to Disney on Ice!  It was a great show!  They loved the Peter Pan scene and the Rapunzel scene.  I am going to post a video of the Rapunzel scene.  It isn't great quality but the girls would love to see the video for a good memory of the show!

Lots of Snow!

Ed tried plowing the snow so we could get out! We had tickets to Disney on Ice and no matter how hard Daddy tried, he couldn't get us out! We were so sad! We couldn't change the tickets either, we just lost our money and never got to see the show!

The month of February brought a lot of snow for us! In fact we got over two feet of snow. We both think it is the most we have ever gotten since living here for the past 8 years. The storm brought so much snow that we lost power on Thursday at 5:05 p.m. all the way through Sunday at 1:25 p.m. Now that was a long time to be without power! What made things worse was that we were snowed in as well! We live at the bottom of a steep gravel road and no one on our street could make it to the top! Many tried too! Even with chains and 4 wheel drive! First person was finally able to get out Sunday afternoon after some snow had finally started to melt!

I have to say, KK handled the power outage very well! She just played with her toys and found other ways to entertain herself. The baby did good until it got dark each night! We started going to bed around 7:30 every night during the power outage! Aly had a harder time! She missed TV and the lights! We were lucky though that we have a wood stove and were able to build fires to help keep us warm! We even used the wood stove to make coffee and heat up some canned food!

I love a good snow storm but I have to admit, it is much more enjoyable with the power on! The girls said they were ready for spring and didn't want it to snow anymore!

Disney On Ice

Last Night was great! We went to see Disney On Ice Princess Wishes at the Arco Arena. While the drive was not pleasant the show was great. I knew we would hit commute traffic so we left plenty of time to get there. The show started at 7 and even the very first princess skit was great. Aladdin came first and my favorite part was the carpet ride. Although I will have to say, they sure got their ethnicity's mixed up! Jasmine was a beautiful Asian girl instead of a beautiful East Indian girl, and Aladdin was a white boy instead of an East Indian boy.




They actually surprised me and did Jasmine, Aurora, Mulan, Snow White, Belle, and Ariel the first half of the show. The second half was entirely dedicated to Cinderella. It was really cute. We especially liked the stage coach.




We got to take Granny with us. Hubby would rather play volleyball then attend a Princess Show, can you believe it? LOL...yes, the audience was primarily female! Poor KK thought the show was too load and plugged her ears most of the show!

Last year we were lucky enough to win free tickets to the show. This year I was able to get 1/2 price tickets--that is why we had to go on Wednesday night. You know we didn't even get home until 11:00 P.M. at night! Good thing I brought Jammie's and we changed the girls in the car. They fell asleep shortly after leaving the arena.

KK and I liked last years show better. Aly loved this years show better. It was so cute to see her jumping and wabing at the princesses and dancing to the music. She really had a great time. Poor KK thought it was too loud and was really sad there was no whale this year like there was last year.

Disney on Ice: 100 years of magic

All week long I waited around hoping the tickets I won from the radio would show up. I was expecting them on Tuesday, nope they didn't come. I thought for sure they would be there on Wednesday..nope, not at all! I was so worried we wouldn't receive them. I basically had no choice but to wait around for the mail to come at 2 p.m. and hope the tickets were in the mail for tonight's show. I got to the mailbox early and found out that this just happened to be a day the mail carrier wanted to chit chat down the street so half an hour later he showed up. In the meantime my girls were climbing manzanita trees and KK managed to cut her finger quite badly.

Lucky for us the tickets were in the mail! I was thrilled and told the girls we would be going to the show! I called hubby and work to let him know we would be there at 5 to pick him up. We left the house shortly after 3 so I could run a few errands on the way. We picked Daddy up at 5 and boy were we glad we did. Do you know how long it took us to drive what would normally be about a 30 minute drive? It took a whopping hour and a half! We got there with 15 minutes to spare.

Aly wasn't looking forward to the show in the beginning because she was afraid there would be fire. She sat in Daddy's lap and braved the show. After about 15 minutes she was in love with the show and much more comfortable. KK had a blast!!! She absolutely loved it! We loved it too and thought it was a great show. The first half of the show was perfect and very entertaining. The second half only had two slow parts, Mulan and the Incredibles. Neither of the girls were into those parts so they got a little bored at that time.

My camera did not get any pics at the show. It didn't like the lighting or should I say lack there of. So we will have to keep the memories in our hearts.

Do you know as soon as we left the show KK was already crying wanting to go back?
