Ferret and turtle sitting

 The girls get to spend the next week watching ferrets and a turtle at our house for a friend.  Alyssa is excited because she says ferrets remind her of sea otters.  Summer is enjoying playing with them.

Happy 4th of July!!

 We spent the morning kayaking with friends at the lake.

 Summer tried kayaking out for the first time.  Daddy gave her some pointers and she was on her way!!!  She loved the freedom.  She felt like such a big girl!

Later in the day we met some friends at the fairgrounds.  Summer really wanted a pony ride.

Our last day

 Today was our last day of vacation.  The girls begged Daddy to go back to the warf.  Alyssa wanted to do some shopping and Kayla wanted to look for Seals.

 When we returned we went down for some beach play which included some kite flying.

Happy Birthday Summer

 Summer turned the much awaited 6 years old today!!!

 We decided to take her to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

 Summer was thrilled to get her face painted!

 We had to stop by the local grocery store to let Summer pick out a cake.  She chose an oreo cake.
