Today was the first day of a 3 day science camping field trip to the beach. It was also Alyssa's birthday!! We had to be all packed and ready to go in the car by 8:00 a.m. Lucky for us we met at Melinda's house the night before and packed up the car! The girls were happy to be able to ride together and not have to go on the bus.
Our first stop was San Francisco where we went to the Exploratorium. In the beginning we had a hard time finding parking. The lots were ranging from $25-$45. We knew we were only going to be there a couple of hours so we wanted to find cheaper parking. Lucky for us some metered parking across the street was open. It only ended up costing $11 at the meter.
Since it was Alyssa's birthday I treated the girls to some ice cream before the bus of kids came.
I think there were about 75 kids that came!
Inside the Exploratorium the girls had fun looking around. This is an optical allusion house.
Alyssa wanted to try and appear as tall as me.
Here we posed for a surfing picture!
The kids got to watch a cow eyeball dissection.
Playing with a bike wheel.
A toilet water fountain...hmmm..should I drink from it?
Um, no, that is so gross.
Some of the boys did though..Lol
Our next stop was walking across the Golden Gate Bridge.
Here the teacher was leading 75 students across.
Next stop Olema Camp Ground where the girls had to set up their own tent!
Lol..the Mom's had to set up their own tent too!!!
Here is Elyse setting up the propane stove.
Time to cook, the other group of girls made chili.
Our girls decided to keep things simple and make cup o noodle soup.
Time for the group gathering.
Here is Alyssa..a bit freezing cold!
