Our visiting wildife on our property

Last Christmas Ed wanted a webcam so he could know what comes through our property.  It takes awhile to put the cam in the right place but we found the main traveled path.  This first picture Ed is thinking is a mountain lion cub.

This is a mountain lion.
This skunk comes through every night and tries to eat our cat food if any is left.
I think this is a racoon.
I think this is a bobcat due to the stubbed tail.

The kids like this squirrel picture...we have lots of pictures of this guy.
This is the first picture we have gotten of the neighborhood bear.  Big guy/girl.

The last picture is a coyote, which we find to actually be the most dangerous to our animals.  They get many neighborhood cats and we think we actually lost one cat to a coyote.  One day Ed witnessed two coyotes trying to flush our golden retriever out so they could eat her.

When you feel so mad

Dress up fun Frozen style

Summer wears it better

Shasta

Summer decided Shasta must be cold so she grabbed my kitchen towel and drapped it over her.  Shasta didn't mind, she loves anything Summer does with her.

Summer gives herself a haircut

Summer found my scissors on the bathroom sink and decided to give herself a haircut.  Lol..I guess I forgot to teach her only adults cut hair.  She said she made her hair beautiful and "picture perfect!"

I did my best to fix it/cover up the gaps as seen in the bottom two pictures.

King Fire continues..the 2nd monday

I woke up Monday morning feeling pretty good about the fire.  We hadn't seen smoke plumes since the past Thursday.  The fire has been mostly traveling north, north/east.  While there was still danger from the south west corner near Camino at slab creek, we were feeling like they had it under control.

When I came home from getting the kids from school I saw these smoke plumes/clouds.  My heart started racing.  Fear and panic set in.  I didn't let the kids know I even noticed them.  Alyssa has been scared enough but the fire and was finally starting to relax.  I immediately came
in and logged in on the internet to see if there were any updates.  Eventually I found out they were doing back burning on slab creek to try and help build a better fire break.  Man I hope those hold!!!

Today is a red flag warning and not good for our fire.  The good news is the winds should be posting north but the bad news is there could be gusts of wind and the fire could have a rapid rate of spread.  Again, hoping it will be away from our house/town.

I don't know who took this picture but of all the photos shared, this is my favorite.  Brings out so much emotion for all of us that live here.

Friday King Fire

It is a smokey mess here today.  I don't even want to go outside...completely choking air.  Ed went to work today and his clothes smelled like smoke just from being outside to go to his vehicle to drive to work.
