This year we decided we would give a real Christmas tree a try. My allergies have been doing better. Ed has been busy on the left side of our property clearing a fence line. I saw the perfect tree that he needed to cut down anyway to make room for a fence. We decided that would be our first real tree. The girls were really excited. We trimmed it up a bit as well. It took four strands of colored lights to fill this tree!

Thanksgiving at home
This year we had our first Thanksgiving at home in a long time. Since we were just on vacation the week before, we couldn't afford to travel and stay at a hotel again to go to out of town family gathering.
We had fun. I bought a table cloth the girls could play games on, color, and decorate. I also had the girls put on their Indian shirts to be festive.
We are not really turkey lovers so we decided to make steak and crab. It was really good!!!
One of the most special parts was eating on Grandpa and Grandma's plate set. Grandpa went to Canada with his mom when he was a little boy to buy this plate set. It was very special to me that they passed this plate set on to me and my family. Every holiday we are home we plan to honor and remember them by eating on these plates.

My first recycle bag project
Starting next July all plastic bags will be banned in CA which means we will need to bring our own bags to stores. I started making my own. This was my first try. I just took apart a Savemart paper bag and used it as the pattern. I liked the bag but I did make a mistake and accidently puckered the corners. I can do better next time.
I am also trying a Walmart plastic bag for my next pattern. Once I complete that I am going to try both style of bags and see which one I like better. The Walmart style will be easier to sew for sure.

Growing my hair out
I am growing my hair out now. I thought I would have some bangs since my forehead seams to get larger and larger.

Zoo day
I took the girls to the Folsom zoo yesterday. Kayla has been in love with wolves this past year. She kept saying, I want to go to Yellowstone so I can see wolves. I told her that we could see wolves at the rescue zoo in Folsom. She was super excited!!!
Summer's favorite part of the zoo was all these photo cardboards.
The tigers were beautiful!
The bears were all eating and they fed them close to the front so we could all get a good look. This was when Summer became scared and didn't want to be at the zoo anymore.
Kayla and I have matching jackets now since her and her sister have been stealing my jackets this past year. I just had to take a picture of us in our matching jackets.
We brought Alyssa's friend Megan to the zoo. She said she hasn't been to a zoo since she was two years old... She had a great time!!
There were so many peacocks wondering around at this zoo. I would bet at least 20. Such a beautiful site. Chickens were wandering everywhere as well, I just didn't get any pictures. Afterwards the kids all played on the playground next door for almost two hours!!!

My little cooking girl
Summer is obsessed with cooking now. I can barely cook on my own if she has a say in it. Although I still crack up everyday when she keeps asking for Terry to make a banana pie with her. I think we are going to have to convince her a peanut butter chocolate pie might be a better option.
Here she is making Mickey Mouse waffles.

Our last day at Disneyland
I took a selfie of Summer and I on Casey Junior train. She picked the caboose going backwards which was super fun! The rest of the family was on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.
Summer really wanted to take the train around the whole park so she could see the Dinosaur exhibit. We did it twice.
Summer just had to meet Tiger and Winnie the Pooh!!!
No trip is complete without a ride on the teacups!!! Good thing Summer doesn't have to go fast! I would get super sick!
Small World Holiday once again!!
We finished the night off at Cold Stone's. Man they are expensive and too sweet for me. I only ate half of my bowl.
